What is a NEF file?
NEF is Nikon's RAW format. It holds the unprocessed sensor data, which is why most apps and websites can't show it.
Are compressed and lossless NEF files supported?
Yes. Compressed, lossless compressed and uncompressed NEF files open.
How long does a high-resolution NEF take?
A 36-megapixel photo takes a few seconds at full size on a current computer, and about half that at half size.
