Tripo3D Texture

Tripo3D Texture re-textures an existing 3D model from a text prompt or a reference image, powered by Tripo.

Why Choose This?

  • Official Tripo models The same Tripo models used in Tripo Studio, served as a REST API.

  • Production-ready output Download the result as a 3D file ready for game engines, DCC tools, AR and 3D printing.

  • Pay per task No subscription; you pay only for what you run.

Parameters

ParameterRequiredDescription
modelYesThe 3D model to process (GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ or STL, up to 150 MB).
promptNoText describing the texture you want. Use prompt or image.
imageNoReference image to texture the model from. Used when no prompt is given.
style_imageNoOptional style reference used together with the prompt.
texture_qualityNoTexture quality: standard, detailed (high resolution), extreme (8K) or fast (same size as standard, quicker; uses texture model v3.5-20260815). Options: standard, detailed, extreme, fast. Default: standard.
texture_versionNoTexture model. v3.5-20260815 is the newest; the fast quality and delight use it. Options: v3.0-20250812, v3.5-20260815. Default: v3.0-20250812.
pbrNoGenerate PBR materials. Default: true.
delightNoRemove the lighting baked into the source before texturing (texture model v3.5-20260815 only). Default: true.
texture_alignmentNoWhat the texture follows: the source image colors or the generated geometry. Options: original_image, geometry. Default: original_image.
bakeNoBake advanced material effects into the base textures for wider compatibility. Default: true.
texture_seedNoSeed: the same seed gives the same texture.

Pricing

Standard or fast $0.12; detailed $0.24; extreme (8K) $0.36.

How to Use

  1. Upload your 3D model — GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ or STL.
  2. Adjust the options you need, or keep the defaults.
  3. Submit — download the 3D file when it is ready.
Note:This website uses AI models provided by third parties. Documentation prices are for reference and may be outdated. The Generate button shows an estimate; the final task charge prevails.

Texture API — Quick start

Grab a WaveSpeedAI API key, then call POST https://api.wavespeed.ai/api/v3/tripo3d/texture with your input as JSON. The endpoint returns a prediction id. Start polling the result endpoint around every 2 seconds, increase the interval for long-running tasks, and stop on any terminal status. On completed, read output values from data.outputs. Examples for Texture below.

Texture API — Frequently asked questions

What is the Texture API?

Texture is a Tripo3D model for 3D asset generation from images, exposed as a REST API on WaveSpeedAI. Tripo3D Texture re-textures an existing 3D model from a text prompt or a reference image. Ready-to-use REST inference API, best performance, no coldstarts, affordable pricing. You can call it programmatically or try it from the playground above.

How do I call the Texture API?

POST your input parameters to the model's REST endpoint (shown in the API tab of this playground) with your WaveSpeedAI API key in the Authorization header. Submission returns a prediction ID. Poll the result endpoint starting around every 2 seconds, increase the interval for long-running tasks, and stop on any terminal status. The playground generates Python, JavaScript, and cURL examples for submitting requests and polling results. Full request/response shape is documented at https://wavespeed.ai/docs/docs-api/tripo3d/tripo3d-texture.

How much does Texture cost per run or per second?

Texture starts at $0.12 per run or per second. That figure is the base price — the final charge scales with the parameters you set in the form (output size, length, count, references, or whatever knobs this model exposes), so a higher-quality or larger output costs more than a minimal one. The exact cost for your current input is shown live next to the Generate button before you submit, and the actual per-call charge is recorded on the prediction afterwards.

What inputs does Texture accept?

Key inputs: `prompt`, `image`, `bake`, `delight`, `model`, `pbr`. The full JSON schema (types, defaults, allowed values) is rendered above the Generate button and mirrored in the API reference at https://wavespeed.ai/docs/docs-api/tripo3d/tripo3d-texture.

How do I get started with the Texture API?

Sign up for a free WaveSpeedAI account to claim starter credits, copy your API key from /accesskey, then call the endpoint shown in the API tab of the playground. The playground also auto-generates a code sample in Python, JavaScript, or cURL for the parameters you've set.

Can I use Texture outputs commercially?

Commercial usage rights depend on the model's license, set by its provider (Tripo3D). Check the provider's applicable terms and WaveSpeedAI's Terms of Service before commercial use.
