Touch and hold to pour. Move your finger left and right to place the sand and build stripes, hills and valleys.

Alternate light and dark

Thin light layers between deeper colors make every stripe stand out, like a sunset in glass.

Build mountains

Hold the funnel still to grow a peak, move to the side for the next one, then fill the valleys with a new color.

Poke down the glass

With Swirl, drag straight down along the side of the bottle. The top colors are pulled into long points through the layers.

Use the rainbow pour

The rainbow swatch changes color as you pour, for soft striped hills with no extra taps.

Flatten or tilt

Settle gently levels the surface. Hold a tilt button to slide the sand to one side before the next layer.

Make a vertical clip

How do I pour the sand?

Touch and hold anywhere on the picture to pour through the funnel. Move your finger left and right to place the sand. On a computer, hold the mouse button, or use the arrow keys and hold Space.

How do I make waves and patterns?

Pour a few layers, choose Swirl and drag through the sand. Dragging down along the glass pulls the upper colors into points; small circles make soft waves.

Can I choose my own colors?

Yes. Tap the plus swatch to pick any color, and it joins your palette. Your colors are remembered in this browser.

How do I save my sand art?

Open the settings and choose Save picture for a PNG, or Time-lapse video for an MP4 of the whole pour. Your bottle is also kept in your browser, so it is still there next time.

Can I make a time-lapse video?

Yes. Everything you pour is recorded, and the video is rendered from it at 15, 30 or 60 seconds, or real speed, in 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9.
