Video Music Remover API Documentation
Playground
Try it on WaveSpeedAI!Video Music Remover strips the background music from any video while keeping dialogue and sound effects, so you can reuse, re-score or dub footage. Ready-to-use REST inference API, best performance, no coldstarts, affordable pricing.
Features
Video Music Remover removes the background music from a video and keeps everything else: dialogue, voices and sound effects stay where they were, and the picture is left untouched. Use it to clear music before reposting a clip, to re-score footage with your own track, or to prepare a video for dubbing.
Key capabilities
-
Removes background music Takes out the music bed under your video, including songs and instrumental scores.
-
Keeps dialogue and sound effects Speech, footsteps, impacts, ambience and other effects remain in the soundtrack.
-
Original picture The video frames are not re-generated or re-encoded: resolution, frame rate and quality stay the same.
-
Long videos Handles videos up to 10 minutes in one request.
Parameters and how to use
- video: (required): URL of the input video.
How to use

After you finish configuring the parameters, click Run, preview the result, and iterate if needed.
Pricing
> Billing duration: Input media duration is rounded up to whole seconds. The minimum billed duration is 3 seconds; shorter inputs are billed as 3 seconds.
| Video Duration | Cost per run |
|---|---|
| 5 seconds | $0.01 |
| 30 seconds | $0.06 |
| 1 minute | $0.12 |
| 10 minutes | $1.20 |

Notes
- A video without an audio track has no music to remove and is returned unchanged.
- Videos longer than 10 minutes are trimmed to the first 10 minutes.
- Music that is much louder than the dialogue may leave faint traces, and steady background sounds such as rain can be slightly quieter in the result.
