What is lost when converting ASS to SRT?

SRT has no styles, so fonts, colours set by style, positions, fades and karaoke are dropped. Italic, bold, underline, inline colours and top positioning ({\an8}) are kept.

Are comment lines converted?

No. Only dialogue lines become subtitles; comments and karaoke templates are left out of the SRT.

Is it private?

Yes. Files are converted in your browser and never uploaded.

Can I convert SRT back to ASS?

Yes. Pick .ass as the format: the file gets a default style you can change later in an ASS editor.
