What are the US visa photo requirements for the DS-160?

A square JPEG of at least 600 × 600 and at most 1200 × 1200 pixels, no larger than 240 KB, in colour on a white or off-white background, with the head 50–69% of the photo height. The Digital JPG here is 600 × 600 px and is kept under 240 KB.

Is a visa photo the same as a passport photo?

Often the size is the same, for example 2 × 2 in for both the US passport and the US visa, but some countries have different visa rules or a separate digital upload. Choose the exact document in the list.

Will my visa photo be accepted?

The size, head height and background follow the official rules, and the checks show what we can measure. Focus, lighting and expression are judged by the consulate, which makes the final decision.

Can I make a Schengen visa photo?

Yes. Choose Schengen visa: 35 × 45 mm, with the face filling most of the height, on a plain light background. Print the 4×6 sheet to get eight copies.
