THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to view Gerber files online

01

Drop your fabrication files

Drop the ZIP you would send to the board house, a folder, or the Gerber and drill files themselves. Each file is named as a layer automatically.

02

Check the board

See the top and bottom as they will be made, in your solder mask colour, or the layer stack. Zoom, measure and look through the drill table and checks.

03

Fix or export

Reassign any layer that was guessed wrong, then download the board or a single layer as PNG or SVG.

Gerber viewer FAQ

Is this Gerber viewer free?

Yes. Open as many boards as you like, with no account, no watermark and no file limit beyond what your browser can hold.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The files are unzipped, read and drawn in your browser and never leave your device.

Which files can it open?

Gerber RS-274X, including X2 and X3 with attributes, and Excellon NC drill files with plated and non-plated holes, slots and routed slots. Use the ZIP from KiCad, Altium, Eagle, Fusion, EasyEDA, DipTrace, OrCAD and most other PCB tools.

How does it know which file is which layer?

From the X2 file function inside the file when there is one, otherwise from the naming conventions of the common PCB tools (for example F_Cu, .GTL, .CMP or TopLayer). If a file is guessed wrong, pick the right layer type next to it.

Can it open ODB++ or IPC-2581?

No. Export Gerber X2 and Excellon from your PCB tool instead; every board house accepts them. Old RS-274-D files that need a separate aperture list are not supported either.

What do the checks cover?

Missing or open board outline, missing drill file, holes outside or across the board edge, pads outside the board, files that don't line up, duplicate layers, the narrowest drawn track and the smallest hole. It is not a design rule check: there is no netlist, clearance or annular ring check.

How accurate is the board size?

The size comes from the outline layer's centre line, to the micrometre. Small gaps in the outline that the line itself covers are closed and reported.

Can I export the render?

Yes. Download the top view, bottom view, layer stack or any single layer as PNG up to 4000 pixels, or as SVG at real size in millimetres.

Is there a 3D view?

Not yet. The top and bottom views show the board as made; for a 3D model, export STEP from your PCB tool and open it in a 3D viewer.
