The logo moves in straight lines at a constant speed, so its whole path is known in advance. The tool walks through the coming bounces and finds the first one where the logo touches a side and the top or bottom at the same time.

Why are corner hits so rare?

A corner needs two bounces to happen at the same instant. That depends on the free space across and down and on where the logo starts, so on most screens it happens only every few minutes or hours.

What is a perfect fit?

When the free space across and the free space down form a simple ratio such as 3:2, a logo that leaves a corner diagonally returns to a corner after a few bounces. Perfect fit picks the logo size closest to yours that makes this true for your screen.

What does corner precision mean?

Pixel-perfect counts only exact hits, Classic allows a couple of pixels like the original screensavers seemed to, and Relaxed counts near misses too, so corners come more often.
