What is AVIF?
AVIF is a very efficient modern image format used by many websites. Some apps, editors and upload forms don't accept it yet, which is where a JPG copy helps.
Will the JPG be larger than the AVIF?
Usually yes: AVIF is one of the most compact formats. The JPG trades a bigger file for working everywhere.
What happens to transparency?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. The AVIF to PNG page keeps it.
Is the resolution kept?
Yes. The JPG has the same width and height in pixels as the AVIF.
