Yes. Make and download as many barcodes, batches and label sheets as you like, with no account and no watermark. Everything is made in your browser.
The barcode drawing is yours to use, but the number in an EAN or UPC must be one licensed to you. Retailers and marketplaces check product numbers (GTINs) against GS1, the organisation that issues them. Join your country’s GS1 office to get a company prefix and assign your own numbers, then make the barcodes here. Made-up numbers, or numbers bought cheaply from resellers, may be refused.
EAN-13 for retail products outside North America, UPC-A in the US and Canada, and EAN-8 or UPC-E on very small packs. ITF-14 goes on outer cartons, GS1-128 on pallet and shipping labels with dates and batches. Code 128 or Code 39 are for your own stock, assets and documents; Data Matrix and PDF417 hold more data in less space.
The last digit of EAN, UPC and ITF-14 numbers is calculated from the others, so a scanner can catch a misread. Enter the number without it and it is added; enter it with it and we check that it is right.
The standard EAN-13 and UPC-A is 37.29 × 25.93 mm at 100%, with a 0.33 mm module. Retail barcodes can be printed from 80% to 200% of that. Don’t shorten the bars unless your printer and retailer accept it, and keep the quiet zones clear.
Vector: EPS or PDF for most printers and packaging designers, SVG for web and design tools. They are drawn at the exact size, with the text as outlines, so no fonts are needed. Use PNG at 600 DPI if a tool only takes images, and place it at 100%.
Print it at 100% on the real material and scan it with a barcode scanner or a phone app. Check that the number shown matches. For retail, test the final printed packaging too: colours, gloss, curved surfaces and small sizes can all stop a scan. For important print runs, a print shop can grade the barcode with a verifier.
Most scanners light the barcode with red light. Red bars then look as light as the background and the barcode disappears. Use black, dark blue or dark green bars on white or a light, warm background.
