THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to convert a bank statement

01

Open your statements

Drop one or more PDF statements. The transactions are found on every page, with their dates, amounts and balances.

02

Check the balance

Each row is checked against the running balance. Rows that don’t add up are marked; fix a cell, switch a sign or adjust the columns on the page.

03

Download

Get an Excel file with real dates and numbers, a CSV, or a QBO or OFX file to import into your accounting software.

Bank statement converter FAQ

Is this bank statement converter free?

Yes. Convert as many statements as you like, with no account, no page limit and no watermark.

Are my statements uploaded?

No. The PDFs are read in your browser and never leave your device. Only for scanned statements does the page download the text recognition engine and a language file, once; your pages are read on your device.

How do I know the numbers are right?

When the statement prints balances, every row is checked: the previous balance plus the amount must give the printed balance, and the opening balance plus all amounts must give the closing balance. Rows that don’t add up are marked so you can fix them before you export.

Which statements work?

Digital PDF statements from banks and card issuers in most layouts: one amount column or separate money in and money out columns, with or without a running balance, dates in any order, decimal commas, CR and DR markers, amounts in brackets and descriptions over several lines. If the columns are read wrongly, drag the dividers on the page; the layout is remembered for your next statement.

Can it read scanned statements?

Yes. Pages without text are read with text recognition on your device. Scans are less reliable than digital PDFs, so check the marked rows and the totals.

How do I import into QuickBooks or other accounting software?

Download a QBO file (QuickBooks Web Connect) or an OFX file (1.02 or 2.2). Enter the account number and, for bank accounts, the routing number first. QuickBooks matches the bank ID inside the file against its list; if it refuses the file, enter your bank’s own ID.

Can I convert several statements at once?

Yes. Add as many PDFs as you need, check each one, and download them as one file or one per statement.

What doesn’t it do?

It doesn’t connect to your bank, categorise transactions or read photos of paper statements reliably. Password-protected PDFs open with their password.
