What Does WaveSpeedAI Pricing Look Like (Pay-as-You-Go vs Credits)?

On WaveSpeedAI, pay-as-you-go describes the usage-based charge for a model task, while credits are the balance used to pay for eligible calls. They are not necessarily two competing product tiers. The exact charge depends on the chosen route and its input settings, so there is no single price for “an AI image” or “an AI video.”

The current pricing guide describes purchased top-up credits for usage-based calls and a pre-run estimate or model price quote. The public price list shows per-image billing for image routes and per-second billing for selected video routes, but model-specific rules can differ. Choose the exact variant, duration or size, and other options before reading its estimate. Compare the final charge with that estimate after a small test; the guide says they may differ. If a route needs a paid organization or a balance, resolve that account condition before treating the ability to create a key as free access.

For budgeting, track charge per accepted output and attempts per job. An account balance is not a count of guaranteed finished clips because settings and rejection rates vary. Separate promotional or trial credits from purchased credits in your internal forecast, and check current eligibility in the dashboard.

Use the live route quote for buying decisions. A static blog example may explain the unit, but it cannot promise today’s cost for every configuration.

For a team forecast, sample several representative settings rather than multiplying one cheapest example. Save the quote date alongside the assumptions so later cost changes are visible.
