Is Wan 3.0 Open Source?
Wan 3.0 has an Apache-2.0 GitHub repository, but open-weight/self-hosting status needs exact artifact verification.

Overview
Wan 3.0 should not be described casually as a fully open-weight, self-hostable model unless the exact weights, checkpoint, inference code, and license package are verified. This batch found an AlibabaCloud-Official GitHub repository with README and Apache-2.0 license, but did not verify a complete downloadable model-weight release.
That distinction matters. A repository license can cover the repository contents, while model weights and usable inference artifacts may be separate. For engineering planning, “there is a repo” is not the same as “we can run this model locally in production.”
If your team needs open-source control, check four things before choosing Wan 3.0: downloadable weights, runnable inference code, configuration files, and a license that covers your intended use. If any one is missing, treat hosted/API access as the safe assumption.
WaveSpeedAI’s Wan 3.0 route is useful for hosted generation, API workflows, and model comparison. It should not be used as proof that your team can self-host the same model. If the official artifacts change later, refresh the fact card and update the answer. This wording protects buyers from confusing hosted access with deployable model ownership.
