README

MiniMax H3 - Reference-to-Video (Open Weights)

Open-weights edition. This endpoint runs the openly released MiniMax H3 weights on WaveSpeed's own GPU infrastructure. It is a separate product from the official minimax/h3 API endpoints: same model family, independently hosted, with its own resolutions (480p/768p) and per-second pricing.

MiniMax H3 is an omni-modal video model that generates video and native stereo audio in a single pass - dialogue, sound effects, and music come out of the same sampling process, not a separate dubbing step.

Specifications

  • Output: MP4 with stereo audio, 24 fps

  • Resolution: 480p (default, faster) or 768p (native canvas)

  • Duration: 5-15 seconds

  • Seed control for reproducibility

  • References: up to 9 images, 3 videos (480p output only, 15s total budget), 3 audio tracks

How to Use

  1. Provide reference inputs and refer to them in the prompt as <Picture 1>, <Video 1>, <Audio 1>, etc.
  2. Reference video soundtracks are picked up automatically; standalone reference audio can guide music or voice style.
  3. At least one reference input is required.

Pricing

Output video is billed per second, plus per-reference charges:

ItemPrice
Output video (480p)$0.05 / second
Output video (768p)$0.10 / second
Reference image$0.02 each
Reference audio$0.02 each
Reference video (480p)$0.05 / second

Example: a 10s 480p video with 2 reference images and a 5s reference video costs 10 x $0.05 + 2 x $0.02 + 5 x $0.05 = $0.79.

Notes

  • reference_videos is only available at 480p output resolution.
  • Total reference video duration shares a 15-second budget; longer inputs are truncated fairly across videos.

Minimax H3 Reference To Video API — Quick start

Grab a WaveSpeedAI API key, then call POST https://api.wavespeed.ai/api/v3/wavespeed-ai/minimax-h3/reference-to-video with your input as JSON. The endpoint returns a prediction id. Start polling the result endpoint around every 2 seconds, increase the interval for long-running tasks, and stop on any terminal status. On completed, read output values from data.outputs. Examples for Minimax H3 Reference To Video below.

Minimax H3 Reference To Video API — Frequently asked questions

What is the Minimax H3 Reference To Video API?

Minimax H3 Reference To Video is a WaveSpeedAI model for video generation from images, exposed as a REST API on WaveSpeedAI. Open-weights MiniMax H3 reference-to-video on WaveSpeed infrastructure: generate coherent 480p/768p videos with native stereo audio guided by up to 9 reference images, 3 reference videos, and 3 reference audios. You can call it programmatically or try it from the playground above.

How do I call the Minimax H3 Reference To Video API?

POST your input parameters to the model's REST endpoint (shown in the API tab of this playground) with your WaveSpeedAI API key in the Authorization header. Submission returns a prediction ID. Poll the result endpoint starting around every 2 seconds, increase the interval for long-running tasks, and stop on any terminal status. The playground generates production-oriented Python, JavaScript, and cURL examples with timeouts, transient-error handling, and safe GET retries. Full request/response shape is documented at https://wavespeed.ai/docs/docs-api/wavespeed-ai/minimax-h3-reference-to-video.

How much does Minimax H3 Reference To Video cost per run?

Minimax H3 Reference To Video starts at $0.25 per run. That figure is the base price — the final charge scales with the parameters you set in the form (output size, length, count, references, or whatever knobs this model exposes), so a higher-quality or larger output costs more than a minimal one. The exact cost for your current input is shown live next to the Generate button before you submit, and the actual per-call charge is recorded on the prediction afterwards.

What inputs does Minimax H3 Reference To Video accept?

Key inputs: `prompt`, `aspect_ratio`, `resolution`, `duration`, `seed`, `reference_images`. The full JSON schema (types, defaults, allowed values) is rendered above the Generate button and mirrored in the API reference at https://wavespeed.ai/docs/docs-api/wavespeed-ai/minimax-h3-reference-to-video.

How do I get started with the Minimax H3 Reference To Video API?

Sign up for a free WaveSpeedAI account to claim starter credits, copy your API key from /accesskey, then call the endpoint shown in the API tab of the playground. The playground also auto-generates a code sample in Python, JavaScript, or cURL for the parameters you've set.

Can I use Minimax H3 Reference To Video outputs commercially?

Commercial usage rights depend on the model's license, set by its provider (WaveSpeedAI). The license summary appears on the model card above; see WaveSpeedAI's Terms of Service for platform-level conditions.
